Job Description

Ardmore Group is seeking for a Senior Design Manager to join our team and contribute to the completion of our prestigious sites in North Acton. Senior Design Manager we are looking for must have HND’S or Architectural Technology Degree, Construction related Degree. architectural practice experience in multi storey new builds, developer experience and dealt with building regulation application.We required to have a knowledge of ASTA Power Projects, MS Projects, AutoCAD, BREEAM, SMART Waste, Building Regulations (including Part B) and previously working on high end residential projects, hand-on, dynamic and keen to take every opportunity to fast-track your career.Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Manage the Design Managers on site
  • Have at least 1 all day attendance each week on all their sites
  • Direct in Setting up all the trackers including design responsibility matrix
  • Carry out with the Technical Director /Project Director/ Quantity Surveyor the Design Risk Assessment for each of their jobs
  • Be actively involved with consultants’ appointments and fee payments
  • Understand the clients brief, ER’s, specification and drawings
  • At the outset detail the methods for meeting Code and BREEAM (need annual training to keep up with the regulatory changes)
  • Ensure that the document control and information portals / systems are all in place and that the SDM has regular contact with the Document Controller
  • Advise in manging design team meetings and ensure the minutes are issued by the Design Manager (the DM should not need this level of monitoring)
  • Assisting DM to Ensure that the Design Team and Supply Chain deliver to the IRS
  • Advise Technical Director of design related delays
  • Be actively involved in the Value Engineering and procurement process
  • Attend the key (Windows, facades, Energy centre, M&E, etc.) Part 1&2 meetings and provide technical sign off for the PCF process
  • Take leadership where necessary of the supply chain design team including specialist design elements.
  • Recruitment of staff
  • Ensure Board Reports are issued in a timely manner and that the SDM clears the red items expediently
  • Any other duty as required by the business commensurate with the post.
