Job Description

Job Opportunity: Procurement Category LeadSector: Aviation, Procurement, Engines.Location: West London, Spain (Madrid), or IrelandAre you ready to take flight in your procurement career Join our team at a Global Airline Group as a Procurement Category Lead. We are seeking a talented individual with a passion for aviation to lead our procurement efforts for engines, APUs, and nacellesacross our diverse fleet of airlines. This is your chance to be at the forefront of innovation and excellence in the airline industry.As a Procurement Category Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement spend on products and services related to engines, APUs, and nacelles etc. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders in the operating companies to ensure efficient, robust, and compliant procurement that aligns with our business plan while leveraging the Groups purchasing power.
  • Leading strategic activities, including category strategy development, sourcing, risk management, and serving as a primary point of contact for senior stakeholders in operating companies.
In addition, you will make an impact in this role by:
  • Developing and implementing a three to five-year category strategic plan for the engines, APU, and nacelles sub-category.
  • Creating and executing local and global sourcing strategies for all external spending activities.
  • Cultivating positive and active relationships with stakeholders across operating companies, offering support and constructive challenge to help achieve their business plans.
  • Managing supplier risk to safeguard the interests of operating companies and the Group from financial, operational, and reputational harm.
  • Bringing commercial innovation to stakeholders by collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders to explore new opportunities.
  • Resolving commercial and contractual disputes with internal and external stakeholders, especially those involving high complexity or high spending.
  • Supporting high-strategic and high-risk projects in operating companies, working closely with strategic suppliers to foster growth and development.
  • Liaising actively with suppliers, operating company stakeholders, and the Procurement Operations Centre to ensure supplier performance aligns with contracts.
  • Collaborating with business areas to identify, challenge, harmonize, and streamline specifications and processes across operating companies, maximizing Group purchasing power.
  • Ensuring that all procurement activities adhere to Group and operating company governance principles.
  • Building effective and positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including line, finance, legal, and others.
  • Participating actively in cross-departmental strategic and leadership activities.
Qualifications:
  • Mandatory: Extensive experience in aviation industry procurement, particularly in the acquisition and maintenance of engines.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with a minimum of 5 years of demonstrable responsibility for international procurement projects in short haul and long-haul CEO and NEO commercial engines, including PBH contracts.
  • Senior-level experience in procurement within a complex global organization and good stakeholder engagement skills
Pay and Other Information:
  • Flexible work location: You can be based in the UK, Spain, or Ireland.
  • Competitive compensation: £75,000 - £85,000 per annum plus a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Flexible work arrangements: The role offers flexibility, with a minimum requirement of 2 days in the office.
