Job Description

The Sales and Education Director (Wholesale) Director for MAC will drive sales and profitability in the 76 MAC Cosmetics accounts within department stores in their territory through direct management of 2 Regional Sales Managers and a workforce in excess of 750 FTE as indirect reports.The Sales and Education Director (Wholesale) Director will drive the channel through successful leadership, organizational plans, training and development, customer engagement and outstanding collaborative retailer relationships across store groupsDrive Sales and Profitability

  • Lead and direct the development of monthly, weekly sales goals and action plans
  • Support Regional Managers to maximize productivity and ensure sales goals are achieved
  • Ensure all members of field management are achieving effective management of controllable store expenses and review on a regular basis optimization of controllable costs
  • Prepare analysis of business results versus plan and by door sales projections
  • Identify opportunities to open and close doors to maximize territory portfolio
  • Lead and direct the National Accounts team in planning effectively sell in across the retailer portfolio to maintain agreed cover and mix of stock in each retailer
  • Consumer Engagement
  • Conduct store visits to drive a consistent brand among stores in the region, providing strategic insight to UK Region Head Office teams
  • Partner with Marketing and Events teams to ensure voice of the field is reflected in program management, including input into marketing & visualization calendars,
  • Partner with retailers on alignment of consumer strategy ensuring the MAC customer experience represents the brand values within each retail partner
  • Follow up to ensure stores are meeting expectations on customer service level and customer engagement
  • Collaborate with Online and Marketing teams on Omnichannel strategy by retailer
  • Talent Management
  • Ensure overall people plan for territory reflects high standards; succession plan and mentor key talent
  • Interview and select Regional Sales Managers, District Managers, Trainers, and Business Managers according to brand standards
  • Ensure Regional Managers are equipped to coach, train and develop District Managers, Trainers and Business Managers to drive their business through consistent delivery of a best in class Brand experience
  • Ensure Regional Sales Managers, District Managers, Trainers and Store Managers develop their leadership skills and develop their teams
  • Implement brand performance management process; maintain appropriate levels of employee data confidentiality
  • Compliance Management
  • Motivate and inspire teams to deliver high standards of performance and compliance with operational standards
  • Establish a store visit cadence on a consistent and timely basis to ensure stores are accountable to expectations, including unannounced visits as needed
  • Act as liaison between the store/district operations and Corporate in all field matters
  • Manage risk across all stores through strict adherence to Company and HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure National Accounts manage and supply flow of required data to retailer partners in a timely manner to meet on and off counter dates, and that a robust plan is in place for managing returns
  • QualificationsJob Related Experience
  • Proven ability to drive sales and profits in a specialty retail environment, specifically within a wholesale environment
  • Ability to deliver high touch consumer experience across all channels, partnering with online, marketing, etc. to ensure consistent storytelling at all touch points
  • Experience in commercial negotiations
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Self-starter with well-developed interpersonal, team building and influence skills
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Passion for prestige retail
  • Extensive experience of dealing with key industry retailers across the UK and Ireland
  • Significant experience of multi-store retail management experience; experience overseeing Regional Sales Managers / Area Managers in a retail environment
  • Experience of developing and leading high performing teams
  • Additional Requirements
  • 50% travel required; must be willing and able to travel to stores within the region as required
  • Ability to work with flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends in a fast-pace environment.
