Job Description

Job summaryProvides chauffeur services to the Ambassador of Maldives. Ensures the Ambassador?s vehicle is kept and maintained in impeccable condition. Provides advice on routes and vehicle-related security practices. Provides assistance to other sections as required.Area of SelectionThis position is open to candidates who are currently resident in the UK, who hold current documentation allowing them to work in the UK, who meet all of the essential requirements stated below, and whose applications are received by the closing date. The Embassy of Maldives does not sponsor work permit applications on behalf of candidates.Essential QualificationsScreening: Candidates will initially be screened on the essential qualifications below and must demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet these criteria. Only those candidates who meet all the Essential Requirements will proceed to the next stage of the process.Abilities and Skills

  • Incumbent has professional driving skills, a courteous manner and discretion.
  • The incumbent has good interpersonal and problem solving skills in expediting and dispatching roles.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Must possess a valid, full UK/EU/EEA clean driver?s license (no penalty points).
  • The incumbent must have excellent customer care skills and be able to work well in a team setting.
  • Must have the ability to drive in a formal professional environment.
  • Fluent in English Language.
    • Knowledge
  • Thorough knowledge of Greater London, and a good working knowledge of Government Buildings and Embassies/High Commissions throughout the country is essential.

    • Operational Requirements
  • Available to frequently work overtime either late evenings or weekends.
  • DBS certificate.
    • Conditions of employmentHours of work will be 40 per week, worked Monday to Friday at time to be arranged by the supervisor. Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory employment and character references and the ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security screening (including a criminal record check).The embassy would carry out a security clearance with relevant authorities, before job is offered to successful candidate for a period of 3 months on probation. Upon completion of probation, if the performance is satisfactory to the Embassy, full contract will be offered to the candidate.
