Job Description

We are recruiting for a Transport Coordinator to work for one of the UKs largest construction companies. The role of a transport coordinator will be arranging deliveries around the country to various works, distribution centres and building sites. You willbe required to work as part of a proactive team to maintain and improve delivery performance whilst keeping costs low.Main duties

  • Confirmation of deliveries with customers via email and telephone.
  • Liaising with suppliers, booking standard and specialist haulage.
  • Scheduling the day-to-day transport and loading needs of the division.
  • Providing general administration.
  • Communicating with the sales and production departments.
The successful candidate will have the following skills.
  • Previous experience of working within transport is required with a good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Previous transport experience would be an advantage.
  • Have the ability to form good working relationships with customers, suppliers and other internal departments.
  • Be responsible for achieving objectives on own initiative, as well as part of a team.
  • Be computer literate and able to communicate and record information effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
