Job Description

SPR Careers are proud to be working with a public sector client to recruit for a Senior Housing & Support Officer within Adult Social Care based in Sandwell.Working Instructions:Hours: 30 Hours per week with a standard working pattern including the requirements to work weekends and Bank Holidays in line with associated rota. Salary/Rate: £12.02 p/hMUST HAVE AN ENHANCED DBS!Job Summary: As a Senior Care and Housing Officer you will provide practical support and guidance to the Clients front-line care and support team through on-the-job observational supervision. You will also provide management cover in the absenceof the Extra Care Manager/Assistant and Support Team Manager where required.Main Responsibilities:

  • Empower Individuals who use the services to be as independent as possible by maximising their potential using a wide range of therapeutic and social activities and interactions.
  • Contribute to the protection and safeguarding by contributing to minimising the level of abuse in care environments.
  • Minimise the effects of abusive behaviour.
  • Contribute to monitoring individuals who are at risk from abuse.
  • To report any concern or suspicion or allegation of neglect or harm.
  • To maintain accurate records in accordance with the service standards.
Duties as a Senior Care and Housing Support Officer:
  • Supporting individuals with the development of person-centred Care and Support plans.
  • Supporting with appraisals and reviewing person centred Care and Support plans.
  • Supporting Care Staff to deliver a quality care service and maintain good practices that meets the needs of people who use the services.
  • Supporting individuals with housing related issues, reporting of repairs.
  • Supporting Individuals with health-related issues including the ordering, checking and administration of prescribed medication.
  • Working alongside relevant key agencies.
  • Supporting individuals in emergency situations.
  • Providing housing related issues including all tenancy support tasks required to support tenants with all housing support related issues to enable individuals to maintain their tenancy
Essential Requirements:
  • ENHANCED DBS – ADULTS
  • NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years working with vulnerable adults, adults with disabilities/dementia
  • Knowledge of the Care Standards, KLOES’s and CQC inspection framework
  • Good awareness of Extra Care Services both social care and the housing management aspects
