Black Country Womens Aid Let us introduce ourselves Black Country Womens Aid (BCWA) is an established charity working across the Black Country and wider West Midlands providing accommodation and community support services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and human trafficking. Services range fromadvocacy, civil remedies, support in court, individual and group support and access to a range of therapeutic interventions. All services are client and needs led. The Domestic Abuse Accommodation service: Black Country Womens Aid (BCWA) provides 24-hour emergency accommodation for victims of domestic violence and abuse in need of temporary safe accommodation. The service manages and provides 41 units of accommodation in various locations of the Black Country,ranging from houses in multiple occupation, individual flats and houses, as well as group schemes. The dedicated team provides bespoke, client led support to empower survivors of abuse to gain confidence and make informed choices. Job role Job Title: Resettlement WorkerPositions available: 1 full-time position (37.5 hours), fixed-term until January 2023Salary: £20,849 - £22,099Closing date: 16 September 2022All interviews will be held via Microsoft TeamsIs this youWe are looking for a compassionate and organised individual to undertake our brand new Resettlement Worker role. The post holder will support clients to establish stable, safe new homes for themselves and their children, maintain their well-being duringthe transition, and improve their future resilience.This role will support those resettling in Sandwell (and where appropriate other boroughs) into their own homes, as well as those who leave refuge at short notice to return to their previous homes.The role: Support offered in this role may include:- * Support with financial hardship, accessing grants to support with the cost of setting up a new home and logistics of moving.* Logistical support with transitioning services to new address, accessing health and education.* Support to live independently, e.g. managing budgets, bills, dealing with landlords, using public transport alone or accessing community resources.* Emotion support and safeguarding as clients transition out of the refuge into the community.If you have excellent interpersonal skills, and empathy and are hardworking, we would love to hear from you.
