As a Job Coach, you will be responsible for engaging, motivating and supporting people with complex barriers to move into sustainable employment. You will liaise with external organisations and employers to ensure individuals receive the support they requireand to source sustainable employment.Professional Responsibilities of the Job Coach:
  • To successfully manage a caseload of unemployed participants
  • Assist the participants in overcoming barriers to employment and support them into sustainable employment by providing encouragement, training and effective monitoring and guidance
  • To carry out a needs assessment and co-design an action plan with participants, identify their skills, improve their CV, interview techniques, identify employment opportunities and monitor effective progression into employment.
  • To build strong, collaborative working relationship with participants, tailoring the support to their needs, motivating, coaching, and challenging them to fulfil their potential and enabling them to secure sustainable employment
  • Case manage the participants progress end-to-end
  • Ensure performance and targets are met as required by contractual requirements
  • To undertake in work support activities to ensure an individual is able to maintain their employment and well-being. Identifying any risk and mitigating risk to ensure objectives/goals can be met.
  • Undertake or participate in regular case conferences with partner organisations, support services, employers and/or other team members to ensure every participant’s journey is smooth and consistent.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, in collaboration with the Employer Engagement Officers
  • Be fully responsible for all tasks related to journey/case management function including maintaining effective and efficient administrative procedures producing appropriate records and reports, including the updating of participant details on the relevantcase management system
  • Undertake other such duties as requested which are reasonable and appropriate to the role.
Person Specification of the Job Coach:
  • Demonstrated ability and experience of coaching and influencing through previous work
  • Track record of successfully working towards targets
  • Experience in managing and progressing a caseload of participants
  • Experience of supporting, motivating and advising participants with complex and/or multiple barriers to employment or engagement with services or social inclusion.
  • Experience of supporting, motivating and advising participants with complex and/or multiple barriers to employment or engagement with services or social inclusion.
  • Knowledge of targets/expectations of the contract and a clear strategy on achievement of goals.
