Senior Tech Lead / IT Services Lead - IT projects focusedSalary: £52,500 to £61,600 per annum dependent on experience + benefitsHours: 35 hours per weekContract: Permanent Location: Hybrid Working (2 days from the office)At West Brom Building Society, we are investing heavily into IT and our people. As a result, we are now looking for a Senior Technical Lead to join us on permanent basis. You will be required to lead a small team of Technical Leads/specialists who are primarilyresponsible for overseeing the delivery of the technical streams, including Azure DevOps operations, build phase, technical application / infrastructure implementation, as well as creating best practice guidelines and recommend changes to streamline delivery.The role will need to collaborate with both technical staff, Architecture functions, and the wider programme delivery teams.The role requires strong leadership skills to motivate team members and know how to efficiently make important decisions. The role requires strong communication skills to oversee personnel and foster collaboration with all project streams / IT teams. Thelead should display a high degree of adaptability in order to learn new technologies as needed and successfully manage the daily challenges of a technical environment. Provide a strong technical direction which involves establishing a technical vision, resolvingtechnical blockers and managing the technical quality of team deliverables.You will be working in a cross functional agile team and work closely with project managers, IT managers and architects to ensure our processes are both meeting business needs whilst also moving in the right technical direction. A strong background in troubleshootingand technology support will be beneficial.Key responsibilities are:

• Ability to support, drive and develop a team of Technical leads.

• Deputise for the IT Delivery manager.
• Analysing project & business needs; and selecting solutions to meet those needs.
• Recommending solutions and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Play a key role in the adoption of automation technologies.
• Lead with the upskilling and knowledge transfer for the IT technical teams to allow the transition from projects into live support,
• Lead with the scheduling and running of knowledge sharing sessions with core project stakeholders to help promote new technologies.
• Accountable for the delivery of the technical implementation and quality assurance of all the agreed applications to be installed.
• Write technical processes and documentation to meet the needs of the project and support teams.
• Support project managers and project support staff in producing quality management reports, procedures and documentation.
• Ensuring that the team has the right mix of technical skills and resources to support the allocated application and infrastructure from both and implementation and support viewpoint.

The skills and experience required are:

• Good communication and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to quickly research and absorb information and disseminate to technicians and management alike.
• Experience of:
  • Coordinating and deploying IT solutions as part of a larger project.
  • Microsoft Windows server products. Accreditation preferable.
  • Migrating / implementing solutions into Cloud Infrastructure, Azure platform with
  • VMware Virtualisation products. Accreditation preferable.
  • Network Infrastructure technologies.
  • Automating processes using scripting languages (PowerShell, Linux shell).
• Knowledge of
  • Database systems, ideally in the relevant database technologies such as MS SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Red Hat Linux.
  • Implementing Microsoft M365.
  • Microsoft M365 migration.
• Understanding of:
  • Software release systems and how those systems are configured in the development and production estate.
