Job Description

Midland Building Products Group is the UK’s leading independent stockist of doors from all major suppliers, and a market leading manufacturer of standard and bespoke fire doors, doorsets and glazed screens.Rapid Fit, part of MBP Group are seeking an experienced individual to use expert industry knowledge and skills to support a busy estimating department with the full scheduling of all customer requirements.This is a full time position for 40 hours a week Monday - Friday.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

  • Interpret architectural drawings to create schedules and quotations
  • Create and communicate price schedules
  • Check details against fire/acoustic test evidence, structural opening sizes, and other variables
  • Use strong communication skills to liaise with customers to ascertain full manufacturing requirements for ironmongery
  • Implement and maintain key screen ordering preparation, ready for production
  • Ensure all documents are received on time, chasing work internally within the group to ensure deadlines are met
  • Communicate with internal and external customers should any problems arise affecting delivery schedules
  • Negotiate and record data to ensure all materials are purchased at optimum levels
  • Adhoc admin tasks to support the office and team
  • Comply with the Health and Safety responsibilities
    • ….and any other duties required to support the achievement of the Company’s objectivesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Excellent working knowledge with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft software
  • A minimum of 3 GCSE’s at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including Maths and English
  • Previous experience in a similar role essential
  • Experience working within an office environment is preferable
  • Knowledge or background within the joinery industry is beneficial
  • Working knowledge of ironmongery is essential
