Black Country Womens Aid Let us introduce ourselves Black Country Womens Aid (BCWA) is an established charity working across the Black Country and wider West Midlands providing accommodation and community support services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and human trafficking. Services range fromadvocacy, civil remedies, support in court, individual and group support and access to a range of therapeutic interventions. All services are client and needs led. The Domestic Abuse Accommodation service: Black Country Womens Aid (BCWA) provides 24-hour emergency accommodation for victims of domestic violence and abuse in need of temporary safe accommodation. The service manages and provides 41 units of accommodation in various locations of the Black Country,ranging from houses in multiple occupation, individual flats and houses, as well as group schemes. The dedicated team provides bespoke, client led support to empower survivors of abuse to gain confidence and make informed choices. Job role Job Title: Empowerment and Engagement Coordinator Positions available: 1 full-time position, flexible shift basis; 9am - 5pm; 3 days a week, including one weekend day per month, 10am - 6pm; 2 days a weekSalary: £20,849 Closing date: 27 August 2021All interviews will be held via Microsoft TeamsIs this you We are looking for a confident and creative individual to undertake our brand new Empowerment and Engagement Coordinator role. The post holder will develop and coordinate various psycho-educational and recreational activities to engage clients, enhancing theirsupport network and empowering them to move forward with their lives.The role: You will develop and facilitate a range of engagement activities to strengthen the culture and community at refuge, thereby strengthening a familys feelings of safety and security upon arrival. Activities will range from ad-hoc/informal to organised, recreational,educational, psychosocial and leisure activities and events carried out with residents and their children. You will also support clients to develop independent living skills, enabling them to transition into their own accommodation and avoid social isolation.If you are ambitious, outgoing and hardworking, we would love to hear from you. You will receive appropriate training to undertake the duties of the job on and on and offsite basis and all situations are risk assessed. Management supervision, support and oversight are embedded in our practice to ensure all parties are kept safe.
