The Data Protection Assistant will provide support to the Data Protection Manager to assist with the provision of a comprehensive data protection service forthe Company in respect of data protection and associated legislation.As the post holder, your role sits within the Governance and Compliance Directorate, in the Risk and Assurance team and requires working with people at all levels of the organisation to deliver and develop data protection functions across the organisation.As Data Protection Assistant you will be liaising with internal departments and some external parties where there may be a requirement to seek agreement for expenditure from the teams overall budget. You will ensure the security of data, particularly commerciallysensitive and personal data, is managed in line with the Data Protection Policy, the Data Protection Procedures and the IT Security Policy, including the secure transfer of electronic informationPlease note that if you are successful in this role, they will require a DBS check to be completed.
