  • Achieve and exceed period targets in accordance with all company procedures and codes of conduct
  • Prospecting -Identify sales opportunities and potential customers
  • Generate and qualify leads from a variety of sources
  • Cold call prospective customers by phone and in person
  • Pipeline management –Build sales pipeline, develop and implement sales activity plans across the period and year. Utilisation of the 20 day rollover planner
  • Make sales calls to new customers and make customer appointments
  • Develop strong business relationships with customers, branch personnel, support functions and peers across the business
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive customer database and maintain up to date customer meeting and activity records
  • Territory development and management. Fully understand the current and potential customer base within your territory. Plan activity to maximise time prospecting and meeting customers
  • Manage your geographic area with regard travel planning and meetings; being mindful of effective time management and health &safety requirements
  • Prepare and deliver regular sales reports and management information as required
  • Participate in sales and corporate events and campaigns as necessary
  • Participate in sales and business meetings
  • Monitor competitor activity, market conditions, and product development, reporting/escalating key activity, developments and issues as necessary
  • Any other duties reasonably requested, and which are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job
  • Role requirements for Business Development Manager
  • Proven track record of developing new business from ‘green field’ position
  • Experienced in field sales and territory management
  • A competent presenter who can demonstrate strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Totally customer & sales focused
  • Experience within high pressure sales environment
  • Valid clean driving licence
