Job Description

As one of Britain’s leading providers of ICT for the education sector, our client provides managed IT support to more than 200 UK schools and trusts, nurturing the ICT resources and dreams of 33,000 school children. We are now looking for an IT Technicianto join their busy, growing and successful team.IT TechnicianWembley£20-24K + excellent benefits packageThe successful candidate will be subject to a EDBS check.To be successful in this role:You will have experience of supporting IT services and have a . You may have been or currently are an IT Technician on a school site and can therefore talk school’ and be familiar with the apps that schools use.You do not need to know everything about servers, networks and switches as this expertise exists within the group of companies and there is an experienced Service Manager on-site who will be able to provide guidance and mentoring. Requirements for this roleinclude:

  • Proficient in Microsoft technologies
  • Experience in a technical support or service delivery function within an IT environment, preferably supporting schools, academies and/or MATs
  • Willing to learn any bespoke software systems of the various schools
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Must be able to follow instructions and document processes
Position summary:Our client is looking for a talented and motivated IT Technician who has a real flair for technology and thrives on providing exemplary customer service to support a large prestigious school in the Wembley area and join a superb IT Support team at this site.Normal working hours are 08:00 to 16:30.Job role and responsibilities:Your role as an IT Technician will be focussed around providing great customer service to our clients schools, so the school loves them enough to renew their support contract. In this role providing Great Customer Service is more important than the tech.Therefore, we are looking for someone who can talk to a person as well as a computer.Your main responsibilities will be doing basic fixes, triaging tickets to the Help Desk and making sure that they are handled and prioritised accordingly. Other responsibilities for this role include:
  • Ownership and initiative. Take ownership of problems and proactively resolve incidents or changes allocated by the Service Manager
  • Service focus. Maintain focus on the whole life of service delivery: from the first touch point to the closure of the incident
  • Team. Supporting the team to build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Maintain a close view of service incidents and their impacts on BAU activities
  • Accurately document and record IT services to support our remote and local team
  • Be responsive to requests for support whilst delivering against agreed SLA’s and objectives
