Job Description

My client Is currently recruiting for a Deputy Housing Manager to Join their successful team based in Croydon on a full time, permanent basis working a minimum of 40 hours per week. Some of which will be unsocial.Benefits for working for my Client:

You willassist in the management of a stable and effective service in the community to support clients, to comply and model pro-social behaviour including some who are managed under MAPPA arrangements, accommodated via our Ministry of Justice contract tolive crime free and thrive independently. You will help to deliver service outcomes in line with our business plans and to promote our mission and values as a Christian Group.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lettings and Referrals: You will be required to assist in the management of the referral process within the project to achieve agreed occupancy/target levels. To lead in the assessment and management of risk including the operation of physical and situationalsecurity measures to control the level of risk posed to the public, staff and others in relation to the referral and letting of properties.
  • Risk Management: To lead in the assessment and management of risk including the operation of physical and situational security measures to control the level of risk posed to the public, staff and others in relation to the referral and letting of properties.
  • Staff Management: To supervise and help support the development of staff as directed by your line manager and to assist in the recruitment, training and supervision of the staff team. To assist in the allocation of tasks to staff in order to achieve thekey performance indicators of the project and ensure compliance of the Trusts policies and procedures. To oversee the development of key working objectives that enable the clients to develop
  • Benefits advice: To support the Housing Officers in providing information and advice about Welfare Benefits especially that of Housing Benefit. Providing additional advice on benefits where appropriate to ensure that the clients income is maximised insuch a way as to achieve independent living.
  • Tenant Consultation and Involvement: To provide relevant information and feedback on occupancy related matters to clients. To inform clients about housing performance and oversee the housing management complaints, compliment and suggestions policy & procedureas directed by the Housing Services Manager
  • Occupancy conditions: You will provide information about clients rights and responsibilities, address breaches of occupancy with clients using the Trusts appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Eviction Management and Rent Arrears: You will work with clients to prevent evictions whilst working with the Housing Manager to ensure that, when necessary, all evictions meet legal requirements.
  • To support Housing Officers in taking action to address incidents of rent arrears and to liaise with internal and external parties as required. To use the Trusts Rent Arrears Procedures and record actions taken to address arrears on the Trusts housingmanagement and CRM database.
  • External Stakeholders: Signposting to and liaising with advocacy/agencies (including culturally specific groups) in order to support clients needs. Encouraging and enabling clients to develop social skills through specific programmes provided by relevantadvocacy/agencies or by signposting clients to community programmes
  • Housing advice: To be available to provide advice and guidance for clients wishing to move into alternative independent accommodation. Working with clients to move on as part of structured housing management (action) plan and in line with housing regulationsand the Trust move on procedures.
  • Key Working: To act as the Key Worker with designated clients including clients who are managed under MAPPA arrangements through the development and implementation of tailored individual plans to progress toward independent crime free living. SMART move-onplans, setting objectives that can be monitored and reviewed during key work session.
  • Working in Partnership with Statutory Agencies: To support statutory agencies in the monitoring of risk and other support/care or training factors relating to the clients and to write reports for the courts and others as requested in line with the TrustsData Protection and Confidentiality Policy.
  • Communication: To ensure that all staff are fully briefed at handover meetings at the beginning and end of every shift and that the daily logbook is maintained.
  • Deputising: To assist in the management of a fair and equitable rota which ensures that adequate cover is maintained at all times and to play a full part in the project rota as required. To cover when the Housing Services Manager is away
