Job Title: Digital Engagement ExecutiveHours: 35Type of Employment: PermanentSalary: £30,000Dept and Location: Marketing and Communications, London W1TLine Manager: Digital Engagement ManagerDirect Reports: NoneA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Digital Engagement Executive to join our Digital team as part of our Marketing and Communications directorate at Teenage Cancer Trust.MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOBThis role will help deliver brilliant digital campaigns, products and content that support our ambitions as a charity to grow our income and reach every young person with cancer. You will ensure each channel is performing at its best by adapting content for social media, website, digital advertising, and emails. We need you to take our channels to the next level by optimising content for search and engagement so that it works effectively to engage our audiences and drive views, engagements and leads. You will help coordinate UGC content from our young people, and ensure we have a regular stream of stories, articles and advice published across each digital platform in a format that inspires and informs. You will be able to spot interesting hooks and angles in stories to maximise views. You will be a strong writer as well as someone who can help produce multimedia video alongside our content team. This is a central role in the charitys digital vision and is key in ensuring we raise more awareness of the important work we do.We are looking for someone passionate about using digital content and storytelling to drive engagement, raise awareness and champion our services and the young people we support. ROLE FOCUS

  • Work with the Digital Engagement Manager to oversee publishing across all our digital channels
  • Adapt and publish content for each channel to maximise engagement
  • Work with the Content Team to produce content for digital channels
  • Schedule and ensure there is a regular stream of fresh content on each channel
  • Plan and create interesting and exciting on brand conversation focused content for our website social media accounts, including text, images, video and audio for our reach wide-ranging target audiences.
  • Update the website stories, features and news, including the home page to improve website engagement
  • Organise and liaise with our network of young people to create content for us. Help develop the content for specific channels
  • Work with the Video and Photography Lead to produce film and video for our digital channels
  • Assist the Social Media Exec in the management of our social channels
  • Assist with management of team systems and administration to ensure the smooth running of the digital function e.g. shared content calendars.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed constraints
  • Manage social media situations escalating issues appropriately in line with appropriate Teenage Cancer Trust policies and procedures.
  • Plan features for the web site including the homepage carousel.
  • Regularly review website content, making sure its up-to date, meets the needs of users and is optimised for search engines.
  • Work within communication guidelines when you speak on behalf of the charity; enhancing and protecting our reputation in the public sphere.
  • Networking and relationships
  • Manage expectations about the function of the digital team in helping teams achieve their objectives.
  • Support the work of Teenage Cancer Trusts partnerships through digital advice and support.
  • Support colleagues across the charity advising them on digital best practice in terms of website, email, social and other content opportunities.
  • Work on integrated projects with other members of the Marketing and Communications Team.
  • Work effectively with colleagues on organisation-wide projects, generating appropriate, creative ideas and leading digital support.
  • Work with a range of teams across the charity to manage content projects which will inspire and excite our users ensure suitable mechanisms are in place to measure their effectiveness.
  • Use industry contacts to create opportunities for Teenage Cancer Trust both online and in the wider sphere.
  • Planning and Development
  • Plan, create and edit digital content.
  • Plan programmes of work to support the delivery of the digital strategy.
  • Assist the Digital Communications Manager with the creation and delivery of Teenage Cancer Trusts digital strategy.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies making recommendations about their implementation/use within the charity.
  • Devise and manage innovative social media campaigns to increase social engagement, ensuring suitable mechanisms are in place to effectively evaluate their success.
  • Where requested provide project costs for budgeting purposes and ensure they are delivered within agreed constraints (time, cost and staff resources available).
  • Reports and EvaluationsWork with the Digital Marketing Executive to produce regular reports analysing our impact online, including use of our websites and social mentions/interaction, identifyin
