Job Description

Communications Executive - Now TeachReports to: Brand and Content ManagerStart Date: February 2021Location: Remote (with regular scheduled days in London expected as "normal business" returns)Salary: £25k to £30k FTE depending on experience and qualifications (+11% employer pension contribution)About Now TeachNow Teach attracts and recruits experienced professionals into teaching. We support Now Teachers through their initial teacher training and their careers to enhance the value they bring to the classroom, schools, the education system and wider world. Our funding from the Department for Education and philanthropic sources allows us to make an impact at a time when money in the profession is tight. We have expanded beyond our original regions of London and Hastings to include Birmingham and East Anglia and we are continuing to establish ourselves as a significant player in the sector. We are an ambitious organisation who are working towards a day when it is commonplace to have career changers with valuable alternative career experience become and stay in teaching.We work alongside training providers and schools and have built a strong offering for our 345+ Now Teachers - they receive a professional network of likeminded individuals and a range of other support initiatives across their teacher training year and beyond.Role OverviewWe are looking for a Communications Executive to join our small and ambitious team to help build brand awareness and attract more talented career changers into teaching.Now Teach is at an exciting point of growth as we work to increase our impact and change the face of teaching in the UK. This role will play a vital part in promoting the Now Teach message and supporting the growth of the organisation across the UK.This busy role will support Now Teachs communications and marketing strategy and include content creation, social media planning and delivery, internal communications and public relations.Role description

  • Produce high-quality content that key audiences will find interesting and useful, including blog articles, social media content, a quarterly magazine and newsletters. This will require working with senior staff and stakeholders
  • Work with and commission freelancers to deliver great content, including copy, design and film
  • Devise a programme of regular content for social media, blog and partner channels
  • Support the PR Consultant to deliver the PR plan
  • Support Now Teachs internal communications and work with our programme team
  • Build relationships with the Now Teach network of career-changers, enabling you to identify great stories and find the right person to tell them
  • Support the delivery of Network Events and gathering insight on career-changers experiences of teaching
  • Use tools such as media monitoring, social listening and monthly impact reporting
  • Support fund-raising and external stakeholder relations activities
