Job Description

Osborne Appointments are recruiting Sheet Metal Workers forour client,a business based in Welwyn GardenCity for an ASAP start! This is a fantastic opportunity for a full time position and could be a Permanant opportunity for the right person!Working Hours Monday to Friday 8.30am-4pm (subject to work hours may differ)Main DutiesResponsible for ensuring specific polishing trimming operations are carried out including:

  • Fully competent in grinding, drilling, punching and using band saws.
  • Ability to set and operate a press brake
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Experience in using measuring equipment such as Vernier callipers/protractors & Micrometers.
  • Familiar with the setting up & operating of fly presses.
  • Able to work without direct supervision and to co-operate as part of a team.
  • Have an eye for detail and a good level of concentration for the fine tolerances required.
  • Able to follow written & verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use tools safely and accurately and work in a safe manner with respect to others around you.
  • Responsible for ensuring work carried out in accordance with company procedures and maintenance of good working practices, including housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Undertake other tasks, including work within other sections, as requested by your line manager within limits of capability and training.
  • Ensure that work is conducted in a safe environment according to safe practices – report deviation from H&S good practice immediately.
  • Some basic self-inspection required
    • Personal specification:
  • Previous experience of working in a Warehouse is preferred
  • Applicants must be able to under take a physically demanding role
  • Applicants must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be a team player with good work ethic
  • Must have metal work experience
