Brief OutlineAn industry leading specialist contractor in the construction industry requires a Buyer based out of their Welwyn Garden City officeThe client is looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual who will be involved and invested in the companys ongoing contracts and overall success.About our ClientThe client has been active in the construction logistics and site services market for over 25 years and has an established client base and consistent work across the UKThey turnover circa £50Mill and deal with various sectors including; new build, commercial refurb, infrastructure amongst other areas.About the RoleProviding prices for all materials included in project plansIdentifying potential suppliers and new productsContacting a range of suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and agree delivery timesKeeping detailed records and maintaining a wellorganised work scheduleAssessing the reliability of subcontractors and suppliersDealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materialsEnsuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials and servicesProviding advice to the management team on the predicted cost of individual itemsLiaising closely with the estimating team at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is providedPreparing and maintaining cost reports in order to maximise efficiency within the businessNegotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been securedAbout the CandidateMust have experience in buyer/ purchasing role in the construction industryFlexible self-starter with ability to prioritiseAnalytical and problem-solving skillsPC literatePoints of AppealFreedom within the roleCompetitive salaryCompany with a full order book nationwideView to progress to a more senior role in the commercial terms in the future
