Job Description

Consultant Psychiatrist in Mendip Inpatient WardSomerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Psychiatrist who will provide consultant input for adult patients in St Andrews Ward, Mendip.St Andrews Ward is a 14 bedded ward which admits adults from the Mendip locality, with a population of approximately 114,000. There are 275 admissions per 100,000 adult population in Somerset.This Consultant post does not include any other community responsibilities. There are 3.5 WTE consultants in CMHS and 0.6 WTE in Home Treatment team (HTT) in Mendip Adult Mental Health services. Community teams are based at The Bridge, also on the Priory Health Park site, and so are co-located with the inpatient ward and the HTT.Requirements:

  • Mental Health Act Approved Clinician / Section 12 Approval
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview (or CESR)
