Job Description

Akton are recruiting on behalf of a client who are seeking an enthusiastic experienced Structural Engineer to join their vibrant multi-disciplinary practice in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, to work with a variety of clients in the Midlands and the HomeCounties.The successful applicant will be expected to form a key part of the engineering team but have the confidence and ability to work autonomously. Chartership status is desirable but not essential, however you will be actively encouraged and supported to achieveyour professional qualifications. Minimum requirement BEng Civil/Structural Engineering. Candidates should be able to provide examples of work.The workload of demanding projects up to £30m, across a broad range of sectors will give you the opportunity to utilise and develop your skills and work closely with other professionals and clients from inception to completion.You should have experience of design in all major materials and possess excellent communication skills. Depending on your aptitude and aspiration towards management, you may be allocated more junior staff members to mentor and take on board business/systemsdevelopment responsibilities.Our client take great pride in their technical excellence and are a forward-thinking company in the use of integrated design and detailing software so knowledge of various packages is essential including:

  • Revit
  • AutoCAD
  • Tekla Structural Designer
  • TEDDS
Although they do hold other licences including Masterseries. Most projects are now delivered through appropriate levels of BIM.A high level of project management skills will be essential when managing your portfolio of varied projects. You will be encouraged to offer ideas to improve the company and yourself and the opportunity to see ideas through.A determination to succeed and progress is highly important.Our client have a flexible working environment where staff manage their own workload.
