Title; Software EngineerReporting to; Directors,Working with; Development, Support, Test and Consultancy TeamsSalary; Up to £55,000Main Purpose of Job; Reporting into the Directors on a day to day basis you shall be involved with the whole product lifecycle, taking responsibility for your own projects and collaborating with the technical and consultancy teams to design, code, test andimplement new mobile, web and desktop applications.Key Tasks / Responsibilities;* Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on design, coding and debugging* Participate in discovery sessions to define new applications and features* Provide technical guidance and to coach/mentor the technical team* Write clean code to develop functional software applications* Troubleshoot and debug applications* Design unit tests for increased software resilience* Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications* Collaborate with developers to integrate technology/business layers * Gather and address technical and design requirements* Build reusable code and libraries for future use/ scalable software* Liaise with the development, test, support and consultancy teams to identify new features* Follow emerging technologies and software trends to futureproof development activities.* Provide software support to ensure delivery of the SLA agreements * Participate in governance and implementation of company coding principles and software development principlesKey Objectives;* Deliver agreed personal objectives within specified timescales* Collaborate with the team to ensure successful deployment of new applications and releases* Ensure data security is maintained (customer information and company IP)* Ensure that customer requirements are fulfilled and where possible exceed expectations* Understand company strategy, and be commercially aware* To learn new skills, improve technical ability and share knowledge* Respect your colleagues, encourage a culture of improvement and deliver excellencePerson SpecificationTechnical Skills* Experienced in writing reliable, high-quality code for enterprise applications * Proven competency with the following technologieso C#o Javascript (JQuery) o ASP.Net MVC 5/6, o ASP.Net Coreo WPF, o SQL Server,o Azure Cloud Services o Telerik Controls o Visual Studio (Latest Version)o Xamarin iOS and Android* Knowledge of the following principles and technologieso Entity Framework, o Responsive Designo OO Design Principles, o Unit Testing/TDD o MVC design Patterno HTML/CSSo Agile Software Development* Competent with MS Office; Excel, Word and Outlook* Meticulous and a high attention to detail * High degree of aptitude for problem-solving and creative thinking * Excellent written and oral communication skills* Excellent interpersonal and time management skillsAbout us:The Citation Group are incredibly proud of the business they have built, the people who have helped to grow it and their client service.
