Job Description

An award-winning, family-owned independent firm of Chartered Accountants employing over 60 accounting professionals from two offices in Northamptonshire is looking for a motivated and talented Senior Accountant. Along with a salary of up to £49,000 perannum, you will also receive a profit-sharing bonus scheme, work-life and work-study balance, agile working, and on the job training.As Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Looking after the day-to-day compliance and advisory aspects for a client, as well as tax, accounts, systems, and general support
  • Dealing with accounting and tax requirements for SME’s
  • Being the main point of contact with clients and developing meaningful relationships
  • Becoming a ‘trusted advisor’ to clients, taking onboard all support and training necessary to progress to a managerial role
  • Assisting in providing timely management information in keeping with the firm’s pro-active business advisory service
  • Taking responsibility for more junior accounts staff, including appraisal of their work
We’re looking for a Senior Accountant with the following:
  • Previous experience as a Senior or Semi Senior Accountant within practice
  • Have previous experience of training and developing junior staff.
  • Have an openness to use modern technology, both for internal efficiencies but also to assist clients in their business practices.
  • Have an interest in developing new contacts and business referrals.
  • Foster a culture of growth and continuous improvements.
