Job Description

Purchasing Materials ControllerWellingboroughTemporary to permanent (TTP)38 hours per week: M-T: 8am - 5pm, Friday: 8am - 12pm£25,000 - £30,000 DOEDo you have previous purchasing experienceDo you have excellent organisation and attention to detailAre you available immediately, and able to adapt to a dynamic and energetic workplaceIf YES, wed love to hear from you today!Our client is seeking an experienced Purchaser to plan and prepare production material flow schedules for the manufacture of each sales order (home specifications). The successful applicant will provide technical support to the production team and be responsiblefor highlighting specification incompatibilities which affect the smooth purchase of materials and furnishings. We are looking for someone to start in this position immediately.Key responsibilities and duties for the Purchasing Materials Controller:

  • Setting KPIs and ensuring suppliers adhere to them
  • Monitoring the supply chain and stock usage, and controlling stock levels
  • Liaising with the production team to ensure that all materials are in place when needed
  • Providing factory "line side support" with production build information & advice when necessary, on products or materials
  • Self-Quality Control checks of all orders placed to ensure accuracy
  • Expediting - shortages, invoicing queries, administration & checking of supply chain
  • Communicating potential product or purchasing supply problems prior to any issues arising during the production of a home
  • Purchasing department administration in maintaining processes, procedures, standards, self-development notes, and imparting knowledge to the department manager in case of work absence
Key skills and experience required for the Purchasing Materials Controller:
  • A self-challenging individual who strives for efficiency, with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong IT proficiency
  • Technical experience with knowledge of Priority system
  • Able to work as part of a team to ensure deadlines are achieved, and maintain an organised and tidy working environment
  • Ability to take ownership of the role and develop new relationships
  • Reliable, with a strong work ethic
  • Able to ensure GDPR compliance
