Job Description

We are supporting a manufacturing company based in Wellingborough in their search for an experienced tool maker. Job Title: Panel Wirer/Fitter Department: ProductionSalary: CompetitiveHours of work: 37.5 per week Position Summary: 1. Assemble & wire electric control panels/assemble pneumatic control panels. 2. Fitting of components into bespoke mixing and dosing machines to specification under limited supervision and to schedule. 3. Updating records in job/technical file. 4. Support engineering with recording of any changes to machine build. 5. Support to lab with any rework or modifications. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 1. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagram. 2. Precision and attention to detail. 3. Ability to follow detailed work instructions including 3D models, written build instructions. 4. Machine assembly knowledge and 3-5 years experience. 5. Ability to work as part of a team and display a willingness to learn and put skills into practice. 6. Excellent communication skills. 7. Knowledge of PLC programming an advantage. Qualifications Preferred: 1. Secondary School education, 3 O levels/ GCSE or equivalent. 2. Engineering apprenticeship, City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 (4 years) 3. General problem-solving skills Physical Demands: Frequent standing/walking, lifting, pushing/pulling, grasping, and bending. Occasional grasping, repetitive hand/wrist motions. Periodically, subject to inside temperature changes, loud noise and vibrations. Some exposure to physical and chemical hazards, fumesand odours. Lifting is usually light or medium with weight ranging from 10 to 20 kilos with occasional lifting over 20 kilos with assistance. If lifting more than 20 kilos may use pump or lift truck. Equipment Utilised: Small hand and power tools, pump truck.
