Job Description

About the roleWe have a unique opportunity to work as part of our Commercial Finance team at our Head Office in Wellingborough.Reporting to a Finance Manager, you will be responsible in supporting the Commercial Finance team in proactively managing income. This role involves working closely with the Central Income team and Category Managers to ensure good understanding of bothmargin and central income for the business.This role will benefit someone looking to develop their career in finance, in line with their CIMA/ACCA studies, its an excellent opportunity that will offer you true commercial exposure.To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate at interview, solid excel skills and aptitude in analytics.Role ResponsibilitySupporting a Commercial Analyst to:

  • Influence Category Managers to ensure understanding of margin and central income.
  • Be the financial expert for the category team.
  • Undertake analysis of the major drivers of category growth e.g. pricing, promotions etc.
  • Identify future Risk & Opportunity
You will need
  • Previous experience in a finance environment is essential
  • Strong Excel skills-ideally including Pivot tables and V-Lookups
  • To be confident, motivated and a strong communicator- you must be able to provide solid examples to your manager who will present these ideas to stakeholders
