Job Description

Quality Manager is sought by a world leader in the manufacture of automotive components. The company provides quality products, services and solutions worldwide with customers in over 150 countries. Our client is looking for an experiencedQuality Manager to join the team at this fast-paced plant.Reporting to the Plant Manager you will take part in the implementation of World Class Quality Systems and liaise with and provide support to the customers, suppliers and plant operations team with a key focus on quality concerns and continuous improvement.Job Deliverables

  • Introduce and implement internal strategic quality systems and procedures in order to ensure continuous quality improvements and meet customer requirements.
  • Specifically implement and maintain the Quality Standard IATF 16949 and BOS in order to comply with Adient Corporate and customer requirements.
  • Ensure that Adient internal Part Submission Warrants (PSW) are submitted and approved within the customer specified timescales in order to ensure all product related documentation is maintained and approved.
  • Continually analyse customer, corporate and internal metrics, using statistical techniques to identify key concerns and trends, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that problem resolution tools, such as 8D, Fishbone Diagrams and Brainstorming, are used to identify sustainable solutions to quality concerns.
  • Effectively manage the Quality Department, within budget, ensuring that all aims, and objectives are met.
  • Work effectively with other internal departments such as Manufacturing, Materials, HR and Finance to ensure all business requirements are met.
  • Ensure that suppliers are managed and developed to meet the requirements of the products and service to ensure the most effective ongoing service is provided with existing and new product information.
  • On a daily basis communicate with the Operations Team to inform them of current quality concerns, goals and targets. This is to ensure a multifunctional team approach in relation to problem resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Work with the Engineering Department/Program Management on the introduction of new models and product changes, with the use of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure all quality aspects considered and met.
  • Maintain the succession planning within the Department and ensure all members of staff are trained appropriately in accordance with the needs of their job.
  • Identify and recommend new equipment for quality/production purposes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Health, Safety and Environment-ensure all aspects adhered to, maintained and improved.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a managerial and Quality related position and have excellent customer facing skills.
  • You will be a highly effective communicator and be able to contribute to strategic business planning.
  • Monitor customer quality concerns – data collection and reporting.
  • Apply, execute and maintain function related BOS issues
  • In addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities, other activities and duties may be individually defined.
Candidate Qualifications and Technical Experience
  • Degree or similar qualification (or qualified by experience)
  • Minimum 3 years in the Automotive Industry in a Quality role
  • A proven track record in managing a team successfully
  • Minimum 5 years in quality related activities in a development and/or production environment
  • Trained in standards for Quality Management Systems (QMS): IATF16949, Application of QMS tools and techniques
  • Application of QMS tools and techniques
  • APQP, FMEA, Inspection planning, SPC, DOE, QFD, 6 Sigma
  • Knowledge of the AIAG Quality planning and Control Plan standard, FMEA´s, PPAP´s, Dimensional layouts, gauge/fixture design and Performance/Material testing
  • Knowledge in PC software applications, e.g. Microsoft Office
  • Experience of People Development and Leadership
  • Experience with OEM’s and/or Suppliers
