Job Description

Our client are a large food processor / distributor, with several processing and distribution sites across the UK.They are currently seeking an individual with experience in a Technical / QA coordinator or technician role to support a small technical team at their head office in Wednesbury.Core duties include:

  • To support the Technical Manager during external certification audits/site visits/inspections
  • To participate and support customer Audits
  • To carry out internal audits, to coordinate the GMP Audit of the Factory which includes hygiene checks, glass and brittle plastic checks, fabrication checks, CCP checks, raw material checks
  • To coordinate and maintain supplier approval processes
  • To ensure proper record keeping in regards to (i) Traceability and (ii) Production paperwork and proof of delivery
  • Customer complaint handling and support Technical Manager in handling appropriate customer complaints
  • To investigate customer complaints and product non-conformances by undertaking root cause analysis of the production process and to feed back to management on remedial measures
  • Ensuring products are produced in accordance with the specification required; considering for food safety, quality, legality and authenticity aspects
    • Candidate preferences
  • Ideally 2-3 years of technical/QA experience
  • A good practical understanding of HACCP
  • Science/ technology based honour/degree in food or relevant fields/ is desirable but essential
  • BRCGS or GFSI benchmark accreditation compliance experience/ min 1 year is ideal
  • Intermediate IT skills, including MS Excel
  • Good communication skills, verbal and writing.
  • Be able to audit, correctly raise the issues and take the correct actions when required
  • A keen eye towards problem solving and continuous improvement
