Job Description

Group Technical Manager - advertMy Client is a leading food manufacturer & distributor with headquarters in the West Midlands / Black Country area, servicing major national retailers, large food service groups and blue-chip corporations.Our colleagues are the heart of our business and we are always on the lookout for enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join our hardworking, talented team here at My Client.My Client has grown significantly within the last few years, and we have ambitious plans for the future. Having just acquired a new owner with plans for investment, its an exciting time to join our team.The Group Technical Manager will drive a culture of improvement and quality throughout the business.You will lead and direct the Quality and Technical team across all of our sites plus develop all strategy around QA and Technical in partnership with the leadership team.

  • Manage the day to day running of the operational technical aspects of the companys management systems,
  • Effectively and professionally manage your teams across all sites.
  • Complete and lead internal audits, acting as the point of contact for all Technical and Quality matters.
  • Act upon legislation and guidelines to ensure that manufacturing is conducted legally.
  • Ensure products are produced in a safe environment.
  • Conduct supplier audits and host 3rd party audits as required.
  • Implement and maintain all robust HACCP systems and processes to ensure product safety, quality and legality in line with all current food legislation, packaging, labelling and finished product.
  • Maintain and continually develop the Company and Customers quality assurance systems, food safety audits and HACCP.
  • Ensure all up to date Quality Manuals are documented controlled and distributed accordingly.
  • Provide pro-active advice on changes to or new food legislation.
  • Ensure compliance to customers policies and standards and the BRC Global Standard for food safety and to other relevant standards.
What you will need to succeed:This is a key role, spearheading the continuous development of all Technical control measures. HACCP, efficient effective quality management systems, GMP and top level hygiene standards. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and you should alsohave excellent knowledge and understanding of regulation and policy, aspiring to achieve AA accreditation in BRC audits.Previous experience as Head of Technical in a food manufacturing industry.Qualified in Food safety, Food Hygiene and HACCP to level .High care / High risk processes experience plus strong HACCP, BRC, GMP development skills.Flexible and Adaptable to support across the wider parts of the business, therefore team work is key.
