We are now recruiting for a Fleet Production Engineer to support Midland Metro Ltd.’s mission which is to provide a safe and dependable tram service.As our Fleet Production Engineer, you will be responsible for:As our Fleet Engineer you will be responsible for further developing the maintenance regime, including instructions, procedures and associated documents, to help improve the reliability of the fleet and cost effectiveness of vehicle maintenance.• Oversee the day-to-day technical management of the current CAF Urbos Tram fleet.• Ownership of fleet performance and safety.• Analysis of fleet data to find any trends to help improve reliability and prevent in service failures.• Work closely with other departments within the business to help improve fleet performance.• Investigate and review all fleet safety related incidents.• Create weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to communicate the performance of the fleet internally and externally.• Monitor National Incident Reports (NIR’s) to understand if failures on other parts of the railway could impact the MML fleets.• Chair and manage monthly meetings relating to fleet performance such as warranty meetings.• Working occasional evenings, nights and weekends if required as part of the role.• Carry out rostered on-call duties as part of Fleet Technical On-call.In order to be successful in this Fleet Production Engineer role it is essential that you have:We are looking for candidates who have at least 5 years’ previous experience in a similar Technical Engineer role as well as;• Experience in finding and diagnosing faults in complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.• Experience of working with rolling stock in a depot environment.• In depth knowledge of rolling stock systems and technologies.• Knowledge of Rail Industry standards, in particular, those relevant to light rail.• Time served Engineering Apprenticeship.• Further education qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.• Excellent PC ability.• Excellent attention to detail, including making accurate records either computer or paper based.• Knowledge of, and compliance with, railway rules and regulations.• Outstanding Safety Awareness gained through working in safety critical operations and maintenance environments.• Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence.Additionally, we are looking fro someone who has experience in one or more of the following;• Reliability Improvement;• Maintenance Optimisation;• Modifications/Engineering Change.Closing Date: 31/08/2023If you feel you have the skills and experience to be successful within this role, click on apply today forwarding an up-to-date copy of your CV for consideration in the first instance.No agencies please.Please Note: The successful applicant will be required to pass a drugs and alcohol test.
