Job Description

The role

  • Pricing structure to Net sales (includes rebate structures, Gross to Net adjustments, other pricing decisions by sales/commercial)
  • Cost elements which contribute to gross margin - including direct materials, packaging, freight and duty
  • Challenging the commercials teams to optimise P&L performance - current and forecast. This role ensures that the profitability of the company is protected & strategic goal of profitable growth is always maintained.
Key responsibilities
  • Developing relevant and timely sales and margin reporting for both value and volumes.
  • Tracking and reporting of the Companys hedged position on commodity trading.
  • Working closely with the commercial teams to:
- Foster collaborative relationships, knowledge sharing, agree priorities and shaping of strategies that will improve margin performance- Deliver transparent and quality financial and management reporting that will demonstrate clear understanding of customer and product profitability - to enable the business to make better decisions. This includes an understanding of the elements withinthe P&L, such as rebate structures (customer and supplier), pricing structures, RRP disco
  • Ensure controls are in place for key areas including:
- Timely implementation of all pricing changes and one-off pricing requests (buy and sell)- Month end and accounting of customer and supplier incentives
  • Develop a clear understanding of commodity pricing pressures
  • Prepare and perform monthly financial performance reviews
  • Develop and monitor the implementation of corrective action plans
  • Provide key management information and analysis to make informed business decisions and to help drive business performance improvement.
  • Drive improvement through use of key performance indicators.
  • Ensure that the financial controls and relevant operational processes within the company are appropriate and effective in mitigating financial risk
  • Assist with ad hoc commercial projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Professional qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or part-qualified with experience (minimum 2 years)
Technical skills and other requirements
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • SQL and Power BI skills - or willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible attitude to changing business reporting requirements
