Job Description

Job title: CNC Programmer TurnerRole: Permanent Salary Range: £14.00 - £17.00 per hour basicOvertime paid at:Hours: MondayThursday 07:00 to 16:00 Friday07:00 to 12:00Location:Wednesbury, West Midlands Permanent position working for a prototype to production manufacturing organisation supplying into Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Automotive along with the Oil and Gas sector. A CNC Programmer is required with knowledge of Fanuc controlled CNC Lathes, live tooling and online programming and setting of 3,4 & 5 axis Hurco CNC Machines. Candidates with experience of setting cast components, working with all types of materials butprincipally cast iron and steel castings, ability to operate inspection & measuring equipment would be well received. Also candidates with offline experience using Fusion 360 would be an advantageous.Due to ongoing CNC expansion this client based in Wednesbury requires a dynamic, leading CNC turner Lathe programmer/setter on a permanent basis. As a CNC programmer, you will be required to:

  • Program, set and operate a CNC turners and Lathe machines
  • Program and set CNC machine with live tooling
  • Program online using Fanuc controls
  • Machine large to medium sized parts
  • Program and set 3,4 and 5 axis turning machines
  • Program and set machining centres would be advantageous
  • Tool changes
  • First offs
  • First off inspections
  • Using Verners, Gauges, Micrometres and manual CMMs
  • Working with low volume high value parts
  • Low batch work so ability to work with short leads times
  • Reading GD&T drawings
The CNC Programmer/Setter should have the following skills or experience:
  • CNC lathe programming and editing online using fanuc
  • CNC turning programming, setting and operating Doosan vertical CNC miller
  • CNC milling experience would be advantageous
  • Online programming/Editing using Fanuc controls
  • Offline programming using Fusion 360 would be advantageous
  • Low volume batch work with high value parts
  • Worked to tight tolerances
  • CMM and manual measuring would be advantageous
