Cable cutting supervisorYou will be joining a reputable national electrical wholesaler.We are looking for an individual to join the Cable Division team based at Wednesbury.The role would suit someone who has previous experience in the cable distributor industry or has extensive experience of working in a busy warehouse environment and handling industrial manual handling equipment who can lead a team and be prepared to lead by example.The role will involve* Organising, supervising, and being actively involved in the cutting of cables to fulfil customer orders placed with us to ensure we meet our customers’ requirements.* Working closely with the Cable Manager and internal sales team whilst supervising the cable cutting team.* Organising the warehouse and drum locations to ensure we operate as efficiently and productively as possible to enable us to manage the high volumes of orders that are placed with us on a daily basis.* Operating cable cutting machinery and supervise the cable cutting team to ensure the machinery is operated safely and in line with company procedures whilst ensuring Health and Safety standards are observed and maintained at all times.* Operate forklifts truck up to 8 tonne which will be handling cable drums weighing up to 6tonne.* Be actively be involved and supervise the safe off loading of cable drums from storage containers that are shipped from overseas to our business on a regular basis.* Safe loading of our fleet of delivery vehicles to ensure the load is safe for onward delivery to construction projects around the UK.This opportunity will suit someone who can work in a fast-paced busy working environment, is a team player and has a flexible approach to work and working hours. He or She would be required to demonstrate a co-operative attitude to his or her line managers, be physically fit and prepared to work high levels of overtime at short notice during busy periods.The benefits package includes a competitive basic salary, contributory pension scheme and the opportunity to participate in a performance-related bonus scheme.
