Reporting to our UK Commercial Manager, this ambitious Business Development Manager will be joining us to help cover the West Midlands region.Come and join the EMR family, a world of opportunity awaits.About the roleEnsure professional day to day management of the customer portfolio including new business development, account management and compliance for the WEEE function.You will help by:

  • Ensuring that the business secures sufficient supplies of WEEE to maximise efficiencies;
  • Securing these volumes at optimised landed margins;
  • Working closely with operational colleagues to develop efficient and productive supply arrangements;
  • Negotiating and enter into suitable contracts/arrangements for the supply of WEEE
  • Developing and managing relationships with current and new customer base
  • Maintaining clear pricing and profitability for each client
  • Covering UK WEEE compliance management for the business, regularly liaising with SHEQ
  • Overseeing compliance in waste electricals treatment, transport and downstream
  • Implementation of internal and external auditing and training documents
  • Constantly aware of the prevailing market conditions and opportunities for the business.
  • Understanding strengths and weaknesses of the competition in the UK and Europe.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers, and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and promote and improve communications.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers, and advise recommended strategy to RGMs.
  • Ensure allocated business and personal objectives are met.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of (T2) as a tool for business improvement.
  • About you
  • WEEE industry experience and knowledge of Regulations, stakeholders and processes
  • At least 3 years commercial account management experience.
  • Knowledge of reverse logistics
  • Must be an entrepreneurial self-starter who is open-minded and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent communication skills/ relationship building
  • Drives success: has a can do attitude to pursuing goals and seizes opportunities
  • Strategic thinking: able to develop strategies and plans to achieve strategic outcomes.
  • A full UK driving licence and able to travel and spend nights away from home
