* Good experience with Instrumentation products* A good background in RF and Satellite communications* Good engineering backgroundJOB PURPOSEThe Technical Product Manager will own the Instrumentation product line within the company, with a focus to expand and grow the companies offerings, and crucially revenue within this and adjacent market segments.ROLE DIMENSIONSThe Technical Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including:· Use their deep product and technical knowledge to support the sales team when necessary on new opportunities.· Working closely with the sales team, but taking ownership to define, develop and maintain their product lines, providing a bloat-free product line that meets the needs of the market.· Drive new developments and improvements of their products through Engineering to meet the agreed schedule and budget. This requires close working with engineering team leads to define the scope of work and negotiate the required resources to deliver to schedule.· Working closely with engineers, sales and marketing, production and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met in line with the companies overall strategy and goals.· Keep sales informed and up to date on the benefits and features of their product lines through occasional product training sessions as well as notifications on changes as necessary.The role requires excellent technical knowledge of RF products and the associated instrumentation & measurement covering broad range of measurement functions and the spectrum spanning from DC to 60GHz.Requirements include frequent customer contact, the development of strategic relationships with customers and other industry bodies. The role requires good understanding of product performance and functionality of Test Loop Translators, Satellite Simulators, Frequency and Noise Generators and ability of developing the next generation equipment based on the latest RF and associated embedded software capabilities.The product range will require a holistic, pragmatic and modular approach, leveraging the companies current key competencies, and developing strategies and product roadmaps outwards towards adjacent competencies, and adjacent markets. This will rely on the individuals technical and practical expertise, grounding ideas in what is technically feasible and commercially attractive.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES· Define the product strategy and roadmap resulting in growth of product line revenue· Manage all products within this product line throughout their lifecycle· Deliver Technical Specifications and Briefs aligned with customer and market requirements· Oversee the delivery of products which satisfy the specifications on time, and on budget· Drive re-use and collaboration across product lines· Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities· Carry out competitive analysis and ensure appropriate product positioning within the market· Support sales and marketing in product costing exercise. The goal is to provide competitively priced, market leading products whilst maintaining good margin in line with other company products.COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THE ROLEBatchelors or Masters degree with minimum of 4 years industry experienceExtensive experience of satellite industry and instrumentation productsUnderstanding of RF technologiesStrong technical experience, including experience of managing RF, hardware and software implementationThis is a permanent role with excellent salary package and flexible working locations and flexible remote working options
