Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant - Margin to join the UKs largest specialist wine retailer!Are you a Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA,CIMA)Do you have Business Partnering / Commercial Finance experience within the Retail, Hospitality or FMCG EnvironmentIf you have answered yes to these questions, Majestic Wine would be delighted to hear from you!The RoleRole is in the management accounting team.Key Responsibilities:

  • You have 2+ years experience as a data analyst or data scientist in which you extracted meaning from big data sets with little engineering support.
  • You are very comfortable building models using MS Excel
  • You are proficient in the following technical skills: SQL, (Bonus points for Python/R)
  • You have developed dashboards and/or reports to track performance using Tableau, Qlikview, Looker or similar tools
  • Bonus if you have hands-on technical knowledge of Database Administration, Data Warehouse Architecture and ETL
  • You can identify key metrics to understand the performance of products, develop dashboards and/or reports to track performance with little support
  • You can communicate your insights verbally, visually and in writing. You are able to distill complex findings into actionable recommendations communicating to senior stakeholders.
  • You are self-motivated and time management is a fundamental part of the role, as you have to set priorities, be self-motivated and consistently meet deadlines.
Knowledge and skills:
  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified, finalist or equivalent
  • Excellent excel skills (Vlookup/ Pivots / SUMIFS minimum).
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Sage X3/SEI experience desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise condently at all levels of the business including Board level and with external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail must be second-to-none, ability to review work and ensure completed to a high standard.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated with a proven ability to prioritise eectively
  • Excellent team player.
