Job Description

IT Specialist with an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 systems and programs, capable of writing in multiple coding languages including SQL, VBA and HL7 and experience implementing and managing cloud hosted systems is required to joinour team at Cellular Pathology Services based in West Watford, Hertfordshire.SALARY: £30,000 - £45,000 per annumBENEFITS: Private Health Insurance, Annual Performance Bonus, Company Pension,On the Job Training + Career Progression, 25 Days Annual Leave (excluding bank holidays)LOCATION: Watford, HertfordshireJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentWORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday plus occasional out of hours and weekendsJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Specialist with an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 systems and programs, capable of writing in multiple coding languages including SQL, VBA and HL7 and experience implementing and managing cloud hostedsystems.Working as the IT Specialist you will report directly to the Business Development Manager and will be the primary IT resource for the company, with support from the BDM and external IT support.As the IT Specialist you will be responsible for:

  • Managing existing IT systems
  • Providing 1st line IT support to CPS staff or referring to external IT support
  • Managing external IT resources
  • Ensuring the ongoing security of the network and attached devices
  • Implementing new systems / processes as the business develops, such as implementing/improving automation processes and driving for operational efficiency

A non-exhaustive list of responsibilities is given below:
  • Provide comprehensive IT support, including network management, IT security, server maintenance, and system integrations
  • Develop and maintain SQL and Visual Basic databases, with proficiency in HL7 communication
  • Manage AWS and other web services, focusing on setup, redundancy, and load balancing
  • Enhance workflow through automation and optimization, using Python and other tools
  • Implement and manage the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and oversee website management
  • Contribute to and manage larger projects, ensuring effective communication and project management to ensure project timelines are achieved
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 systems and programs
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in managing local networks, servers and infrastructure
  • Fluently capable of writing in multiple coding languages, included but not limited to SQL, VBA and HL7. Knowledge / experience in Python and similar languages is desirable
  • Significant experience in implementing and managing diverse cloud hosted systems, specific experience with AWS is advantageous
  • Experience of managing IT systems and processes in a healthcare / laboratory environment is desirable
  • Strong adaptability and ability to manage workload independently
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Team player with a proactive approach to tasks and projects
