Job Description

We are working with an established and creative British brand that creates brilliant products for the global market. With a company of 25, they are adding a part-time HR Manager to their team to balance be the experienced, knowledgeable HR leader that thisbusiness needs during this next stage of growth (3 days per week).In this new role, reporting into the Director, you will lead and develop the HR function, managing transactional and culture related projects; from reinventing their performance reviews and redesigning their contracts/handbooks through to talent planning,process improvement and team development.You will be the go-to person for all people related issues, providing sound and strategic advice, guidance, and solutions. Experience within a transactional HR role, within an SME or scale-up is vital.Duties as HR Manager:
  • Provide advice and implement solutions for immediate and longer-term people related projects/issues.
  • Thoroughly understand the team (including the Owners and SLT) to get to the root of their needs, motivations, and skill-gaps to ensure everything is working to their strengths and goals
  • Provide support to the Founders, on a business, strategic and personal level, to ensure they are thriving
  • Review, design and implement appropriate and robust HR policies and procedures to support the company growth
  • Oversee employment contracts ensuring processes and procedures are legally complaint according to employment law legislation and kept up to date
  • Redesign and implement the companys appraisal and pay review process
  • Recommend training and development initiatives, balancing employee and company needs
  • Review and enhance the company handbook, rolling out updates and improvements across the company
  • Manage and oversee talent planning, ensuring the highest employee experience
  • Develop and implement new starter induction and on-boarding programs
  • Develop internal diversity, equity and inclusion policies
  • Provide confidential support and advice to the wider team
  • Work closely with the leadership team to nurture and evolve the companys culture as they continue to grow
Experience and attributes required for this HR Manager position:
  • CIPD qualified level 5 or above
  • 4 years experience within a similar, management level role
  • Transactional HR experience with a good knowledge of employment law, policies and best practice
  • Proven performance management experience
  • People focused and passionate about creating an energetic and supportive culture with demonstrable successes in these areas
  • Experience of proactively developing people strategies and policies
  • Able to adapt communication styles with a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Service oriented - hands on and happy to help out
  • Able to work discreetly with a professional approach
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Experience of leading and managing change is desirable
