Job Description

Jacob Greys latest role is a Financial Controller with a leading distribution business based in Watford:

  • Managing the day to day finance function of a diverse team including FP&A, managment accounts, transactional accounts and payroll.
  • Focus on financial process development, putting in place CI initiatives to suit the evolution of the business
  • Monthly and quarterly budget setting including overseeing monthly variance analysis and departmental reviews
  • Budgeting and long term forecasting
  • Business partnering - collaborating regularly with other department heads about budget, commercial opportunity, capital expenditure, and investment opportunity
  • Annual statutory accounts preparation including management of year end audit
  • Cash management and short term cash forecasting.
  • Assess the financial risk of any and all business operations, investments, and innovation
  • Manage the financial team including coaching and developing employees and teams for a more effective skill-set and work environment
  • Liaising with external bodies including auditors, HMRC, banks, etc.
  • Ensure impeccable and detailed financial records; oversee that taxes and record filing are done correctly and to government standard
  • Preparation of VAT returns and liaising with Accountants for preparation of Corporation Tax returns and Payroll team for P11D preparation
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). You will also have a demonstrable track record delivering results and bringing about transformation in a similar sized business/finance department. Additionally you will have strongexperience of budgeting, long term forecasting, VAT, short term cashflow forecasting, Statutory Accounting, overseeing and reviewing Management Accounts (ideally for a group of companies) as well exposure to leading and building similar sized teams.On offer is a very competitive basic salary, annual bonus, and a good benefits package.
