Job Description

Experienced Furniture FitterPermanent RoleSalary £35k - £40kLocation: WatfordMon - Fri 8am-5pm, Overtime may be requiredor availabledepending on business needsMy client isa successful, award-winning multi-disciplinary design company.They are looking for an experienced high-end Furniture Fitter, to work from our Watford warehouse as part of a fun, small, successful and dynamic team. You should ideally come with a proven strongbackground of experience in furniture fitting in European and systems. Attention to detail is a must.The successful applicant would be responsible for the delivery and installation of high-quality furniture from UK and European suppliers. Our client range from high net worth private individuals to developers.In this key role the furniture fitter would work closely with the established team, preparing the outgoing projects for installation, gaining a good working knowledge of the furniture areas prior to commencing their installation and transforming the interiors of private homes and Developer showhome properties.Key Responsibilities

  • Good time served carpentry skills
  • Strong experience in installation of high-end systems/flat pack furniture
  • Site fitting experience
  • High level of skill and attention to detail
  • Ability to work from production drawings
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, to agreed deadlines and to a high standard
  • Heavy lifting of items (adhere to manual handling policy)
  • Working in accordance to H&S regs and company operating framework
  • Using the established fitting diary and Synchroteam job booking system
  • Customer liaison
  • Handling all supplier returns systematically and effectively
  • Feedback to design team re: all fitting jobs and customer service issues
  • Regular checks of the warehouse’s needs and carrying out any necessary maintenance and improvements
  • Oversea the maintenance of Fitters’ vehicles, machinery and equipment
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
  • Prepare goods-in items for picking by delivery and installation teams
  • Be responsible for route planning for jobs
  • Must be certified to drive a Bendi forklift truck
  • Key Requirements
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Previous furniture fitting of high-end furniture experience is essential – to include wardrobes accurate measures
  • Certificate trained to drive a Bendi forklift truck is desirable
  • An adaptable candidate who is capable of working in a fast-paced environment and can priorities their work load
  • Some knowledge of using Excel, Outlook for emails. Training will be provided on other packages.
  • Possess a driven nature and dedicated mentality
  • Good timekeeping and able to organise task completion in a timely manner
  • Able use initiative to problem solve and create solutions for arising issues
  • Able to lift heavy items for installation preparation on a regular and frequent basis
  • Job holder should be reliable, proactive, trustworthy and possess a high level of common sense
  • Willing to learn and undertake new challenges
  • Must be 25 years old or above for insurance purposes
  • Good geographical knowledge of North / West London
  • Full UK Driver’s Licence and use of own car is essential
  • Well-presented and personable, with excellent communication and organisational skills
