Job Description

We are in partnership with a world leader within their sector and who is engaged in several large project at the moment.Hence, we are urgently seeking an experienced DATA ETL Data Warehouse Engineer to come onboard and hit the ground running for one of their key projects. You will have the ability to overcome project blockers, be a solution provider / implementer and be ableto execute all tasks at hand within a highly pressured environment.Contract - initially 2 monthsRate - Market rate & experienced based - OUTSIDE IR35Location - Watford - Remote for most of the week but general expectation will be 2 days on site 3 days WFH.Start - ASAP - Interview this week start and start this or next week. URGENTGeneral Specification below

• Design, code, test, and document all new or modified Data and BI systems, applications, and programs.
• Able to operate in a fast changing and dynamic environment
• Experience in operating with large volumes of data and quickly changing data on cloud infrastructure (ideally MS Azure).
• Strong collaborator with other data engineering teams to implement data engineering changes and improvement.
• Develop the semantic layer, metadata, reports, and report definitions.
• Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions.
• Perform Data Operations activities including automation of data pipeline and data egress monitoring, quality assurance controls, raising/resolving technical incidents across the team and with other departments.
• Analyse user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications.
• Develop, build and test technical solutions (data and capabilities) adhering to Technical release standards.
• Operate activities independently, and as a functional team member or as a member of a Feature Team to confirm requirements, define, build and test solutions, with handover into operate mode.
• Able to quickly gain deep knowledge of the infrastructure, platform, tools and data in support of activities.
• Produce ETL design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system.
• Work with BI team manager / project managers to ensure that data entry, retrieval, change, and delete functions meet business requirements for project completion.
• Conduct job duties and responsibilities according to the organizations business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
• Formulation and high quality delivery of user training sessions for systems and digital business tools, ensuring content and supplementary materials are developed to defined standards.
• Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary.
• Act as evangelist for BI benefits across the organisation; promote BI usage to relevant departments.
• Use of advanced analytical techniques to clean, transform, analyse and Interpret data using statistical techniques and visualisation tools (Microsoft Power BI, Power Pivot, Power View and Excel).
• Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Report Development utilising the Business Reporting Tools such as (BIRT, SQL(DB2), TOAD, SQL(SERVER), Microsoft Power BI)
• Share knowledge and develop capabilities to strengthen understanding of business issues and best practices; evaluate implications to business unit
• Evaluate and select database/data warehouse components, including hardware, relational database management systems, ETL software, metadata management tools, and database design solutions.
• Support projects in the implementation and use of new Data and BI software tools and systems.
• Support the integration efforts for merging Data and BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
