Careers that Change LivesLooking for a challenge to help the healthcare systems realise the full value of our products and therapies Would you like the opportunity to work in a cross-business environment The Clinical team are looking to hire a dynamic and forward-thinking team member to bridge the gap between sales and market access using agile and innovative data collection methods.TheClinical Affairs and Research Specialist (CARS)has cross-businessesresponsibility serving as a local scientific resource and expertengaging with internal and external stakeholders onScientific & Clinical programs.In this role you will be working closely with KOLs, HEC, marketing and the EMEA and Global research community.As Clinical Affairs and Research Specialist you willdevelop and manage the local scientific and clinical strategy in full alignment with local market access and therapy adoption. You will ensure evidence-based differentiation of our product and therapies and supportthe development of scientific services and solutions by thoroughly evaluating local market needs. AsClinical Affairs and Research Specialist you will have an overview of Scientific and Clinical programs andwill provide input on relevant clinical evidence.You will report to Snr Regional Clinical Leader UK&I.If you think you have got what it takes to join this influential, dynamic team then we would love to hear from you.Day in the LifeMain responsibilities include but are not limited to:Stakeholder Management

  • Actively build and maintain optimal relationships with local customers and local Key Opinion Leaders as well as with local authorities, medical & scientific communities and the medical device industry focusing on the assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Represent Medtronic as "the Scientific & Clinical face" within the country / region and act at the same time as the "voice" of the local organization, customers and authorities towards relevant stakeholders at Medtronic for the assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Be able to navigate into the company matrix and establish a strategic partnership with other functions (Compliance, reimbursement, QA) and clinical stakeholders (KOL, Competent authorities) to find the proper solution to leverage market access/therapy development opportunities.
  • Act as the first point of contact for local customers, authorities and KOLs as well as Clinical BU and other internal stakeholders.
  • Local/Regional Scientific & Clinical Strategy
  • Develop and manage the local strategy and provide input to the global clinical strategy ensuring full alignment.
  • Build the right level of knowledge in reimbursement, health management in the country/region to address local/regional needs with relevant clinical solutions.
  • Systematically identify opportunities for scientific services in the local market and proposes solutions for those needs.
  • Systematically build an internal and external reputation as a trusted partner in develop and deliver value-based healthcare initiatives, with a focus on outcome definition and measurement.
  • Scientific engagement(Enable Study Execution and ERPs)
  • Enable Medtronic sponsored global studies with a focus on local L&C, Regulatory and Finance aspects and ensure study management for local studies.
  • Be the point of contact for clinical execution groups at Medtronic as Post Approval Network (PACS) or MC2 (Medtronic Clinical Operation and Scientific and Study Solutions) for any local knowledge needs (such as language, culture, travel).
  • Collaborate with investigators on the ERP submission and follow-up, and locally manage the support provided by Medtronic (such as L&C, Finance and logistics aspects).
  • Local Evidence Dissemination & Clinical Activities Awareness
  • Ensure awareness of global and local clinical activities, new clinical evidence and provide input and training to local organisation.
  • Advise local marketing organization on outcome of publications and on a communication strategy, providingexpert review of marketing / sales presentations, literature and publications.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulations and communicates discrepancies to the different stakeholders.
  • Must Haves
  • Masters or bachelor’s degree in relevant technical, clinical or biomedical field (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare, scientific or clinical areas.
  • Knowledge of local law & regulations.
  • Deep knowledge of the local culture and language.
  • General knowledge of Good Clinical Practice’ and applicable internal and external regulations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Strong judgment & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think in the bigger picture and have global perspective.
  • Project management skills combined with strong business savviness.
  • Willingness to travel in the country / region.
