Job Description

Are you an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant seeking a new challenge in client portfolio managementOur client which is an established family run 3-partner Chartered Practice based in Hertfordshire / North London may be your future. It is a successful growing practice offering the opportunity to build up client relationships by providing a clear and strong business strategy and commitment to client careThe Client Portfolio Accountant key responsibilitiesManaging and running a portfolio of 100+ clients (Limited companies, partnerships, sole traders) for broad range of clients including tech companies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio, growing it and business development activities. Mentoring and support will be provided to assist.
  • Maintaining client relationships and recommending ways for the firm to improve
  • Responsibility for client deadlines, compliance and correspondence.
  • Planning and reviewing jobs sent to Outsourcers.
  • Communicating with clients and all technical matters expected of a qualified accountant
    • The Client Portfolio Accountant skills and experience
  • Qualified ACA / ACCA accountant with small firm background and at least 4 years’ experience.
  • Has a progressive forward-thinking ability to add value to clients
  • Strong technical ability in preparing and reviewing accounts and tax
  • Strong IT skills, cloud accounting preferable
  • Able to handle a portfolio and have practice experience essential
  • Networking skills, confident and at ease with clients and management
    • Personal Attributes of the Client Portfolio Accountant
  • Must be self-motivated, able to prioritise and deliver an accurate and efficient workload.
  • Dedicated to help management drive the business forward and a confident personality and well presented.
  • Demonstrates ability to add to workload increase as more client work accepted.
  • A personality who deals with clients and colleagues pleasantly.
  • Ability to be completely discreet and handle client information confidentially.
    • Required skills of the Client Portfolio Accountant
  • Accounting - Qualified ACCA or ACA
  • Portfolio Management - 4yrs+ Full responsibility for sizeable Portfolio
  • Sage Line50, IRIS
  • Sage / QuickBooks / Xero / cloud accounting, strong IT skills
  • Top of Form - able to demonstrate technical ability and accountancy law and tax
  • Drop-box
  • Excel spreadsheets to financial standards
  • Presentation skills
  • Excellent general IT skills
