We are recruiting a Medical Secretary / Personal Assistant who will work at our Satellite Renal Unit in Watford General Hospital. This role is part-time, 20 hours per week. The post holder will support a Consultant Nephrologist, specialist renal registrar and clinical nurse specialist in the efficient and effective running of a busy outpatient nephrology service. The post holder will enjoy a high degree of training and support, and will acquire specialist renal knowledge.The post holder will be an experienced medical secretary or medical PA. The post holder will be one of a team of three part time staff. He/ she will undergo full induction to the role, but will need to be highly articulate, comfortable with, and used to prioritising a busy workload, able to audio type, and able to use Microsoft Office Word and Outlook.Once fully trained and competent, the post holder will work autonomously, but with support always available from either a Medical Secretary colleague, or from the Renal Unit Matron or Nurse Manager.Ideally, the post holder will be able to offer some ongoing flexibility with regard to shift pattern, as the needs of the service do change at times. Usually though, working hours will fall between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Work patterns can be discussed at interview.
