Job Description

This excellent Audio Visual and IT Technician opportunity has arisen in an independent school in the Watford area! The role has a salary of up to £28,000 depending on your experience and skillset and an array of additional benefits.Role OverviewIn this position, it will be your responsibility to perform a number of AV and IT tasks. From installing, configuring, and supporting networked PCs, laptops and peripheral devices to setting up the sound and projector for school assemblies and being on handfor the duration to offer support when required.Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of school hardware and devices.
  • Manage projects related to AV infrastructure such as new projectors, microphones, mixing desks, and custom lighting.
  • Ensuring all queries and requests are logged accurately.
  • Providing IT support to students, teachers and school support staff through a ticket system.
  • In charge of all AV equipment when there are assemblies and events.
  • Recommending IT system improvement ideas to senior staff members.
  • Troubleshoot AV equipment in classrooms, such as Interactive Wide Boards and projectors.
  • Perform basic maintenance repairs and upgrades and diagnose and fix software and hardware problems.
  • Maintenance work in the relevant departments, including minor repairs to ICT and sound equipment and planning the repair and servicing of all equipment.
  • Ensuring all documentation and Licensing are kept safe and filed accurately.
  • Routinely test school equipment and carry out maintenance when needed.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience working with IT / AV equipment in a school/education environment.
  • Background in assisting school assemblies, online conferences and meetings with school equipment.
  • Experience in support and maintenance of Windows 10, Microsoft 365 Environment.
  • Experience working in a ticketed IT service desk environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
