Job Description

Refuse Collectorroles available working AM shifts Monday to Friday, for a Local Authority Waste Service just outside Cambridge. The depot has good transport links, free parking onsite, ongoing work available with set shifts! Hours & Shifts:Monday – Thursday 6am-2pm (0600-1400)Friday – 6am-1.30pm (0600-1330)Job and Finish!Pay Rate:£12.37 per hourAsGeneral Operativeyou will be undertaking any of the following duties:

  • Work as a team led by the driver
  • Ensure that refuse rounds are completed on the day within specified timescales
  • Assist the driver in preparing the vehicle for the day
  • Operative machinery in strict accordance with instructions and training
  • Undertake assisted collections as required including returning bins to the designated point
  • Ensure that Health and Safety compliant PPE is used at all times
  • Other duties may be required such as litter picking, collecting fly tipping, general yard duties and wheelie bin deliveries/ collections
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following:
  • Experience preferably in Waste Collection as a Refuse Loader/ General Operative/ Labourer although full training will be given
  • Loading and unloading experience ideally
  • Experience of working to targets
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time
  • Excellent attention to detail
