Job Description

Production Technician Location: Cambridge, CambridgeshireSalary: Very Competitive + Excellent BenefitsOur client, a well established manufacturing company, is seeking a Production Technician to join their team. They specialise in the production of innovative infrared technology solutions.The Role:You will contribute to the electro-mechanical assembly and testing of various infrared thermal imaging products. Key responsibilities include fault finding, component-level debugging, and meticulous documentation.Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct SMT soldering (to 0201) and proficiently repair PCBs.
  • Perform wiring, cable/harness assembly, and maintain proficiency in these skills.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of electronic fundamentals.
  • Read schematic designs and interpret them effectively.
  • Utilise standard test equipment (e.g., Oscilloscope, DVM, signal generator) with proficiency.
Requirements:
  • Possess wiring and cable / harness assembly experience.
  • Ability to conduct SMT soldering (to 0201) and proficiently repair PCBs.
  • Capability to read and interpret schematic designs.
  • Proficiency in using standard test equipment.
  • Working knowledge of PCB design software.
  • Hold a formal Engineering or relevant qualification.
  • Basic experience with Solidworks or similar mechanical design software packages.
  • Familiarity with clean room techniques for opto-mechanical assembly.
  • Desired understanding of analogue and digital video processing.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
