Job Description

Tooling EngineerSunderland3 Shifts (Mornings/Afternoons/Nights)£39,800 + OvertimeWe are looking for a motivated Tooling Engineer to join a market leading automotive manufacturer. Reporting directly to the Tooling Supervisor you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspectsof planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers.The position will appeal to a strong tooling engineer looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.Role Description:

  • Performing effective reactive tooling maintenance on press/stamping tools/assembly fixtures, following the escalation procedure at all times.
  • Performing scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance in order to minimise unplanned downtime and quality concerns.
  • Liaising with Production and Quality departments to ensure machine availability to build quality parts.
  • Controlling and sourcing maintenance tools, equipment and spares.
  • Documenting breakdowns; identifying route cause and remedial action to help identify and resolve reoccurring issues.
  • Fostering positive working relationships within the team, department and company to encourage a cross functional approach and maximise potential within the business.
  • Supporting the Toolroom Supervisor to develop and co-ordinate actions to ensure business objectives within your area of responsibility are achieved within set timeframes (for example the reduction of unplanned downtime).

  • Tooling Experience
  • Apprentice Trained - Toolmaking
  • Automotive Industry Experience - Advantageous
  • Supervisory experience
