Job Description

My ClientNigel Wright are delighted to working with Education Partnerships North East in their search for a Director of People and OD. EPNE is a dynamic partnership, formed by Sunderland College, Northumberland College and Hartlepool 6th Form. With a catchment areathat spans Berwick upon Tweed to the Tees Valley EPNE have a one college approach delivered through their culture and values, with each college strongly connected to the communities they serve. An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Director of Peopleand OD.This role can be based from any of the collage campuses although most time will be spent at Washington. There is some flexibility to work from home.The OpportunityLeading a team of 5 business partners and the wider team youwill work closely with the leadership team to ensure the People and Development function and business partner model supports strategic and operational priorities. A commitment to delivering, developingand maintaining a culture of equality and diversity in employment is crucial.Key elements of the role include:

  • Trusted advisor to the Executive and leadership team on all people related activities.
  • Leadership of the HR team, driving high performance and raising the profile across the organisation.
  • Making the College a great place to work through high engagement of colleagues across the organisation.
  • Prioritising key initiatives from the people plan and driving activities through the team.
  • Lead On all complex case management across the organisation.
  • Embed new systems and processes, driving a continuous improvement mindset within the team.
  • Safeguarding and keeping people safe in education.
  • Oversee the recruitment strategy to ensure the organisation can attract, retain and develop the best talent.
  • Oversee all people related data, providing data and insights.
  • Building strong relationships with the Trade Unions and negotiating effectively.
  • Budget allocation.
The PersonWe are seeking an experienced HR professional of chartered CIPD membership status with a passion for delivering outstanding professional support.The successful candidate will have a proven track record in HR leadership and team management. Adept at multi tasking and prioritising you can demonstrate your ability to lead and influence.EPNE are bold and challenging in their outlook, a determination andenthusiasm to succeed in their vision and values underpins what they do.This role can be based from any of the college campuses although most time will be spent at Washington.
