Job Description

Job Title: Strategic Workforce Planning ManagerLocation: Warwick (in office 1 day a week)Contract length: 12 monthsPay rate: Circa £350 per day, inside IR35My client is an international electricity and gas company and one of the largest investor-owned Energy companies in the world. They play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and North-Eastern US inan efficient, reliable, and safe manner.Job PurposeResponsible for the creation of Electricity Transmissions Strategic Workforce plan, supporting the business with workforce options and building trusted and cost-effective implementation strategies. Supporting critical activities to determine and provideassurance on Electricity Transmissions workforce and readiness over the next 15 yearsKey Accountabilities

  • Able to explore business requirements for strategic workforce planning and future of work (time horizon of up to 15years)
  • Able to work effectively with data and provide key data insights from various internal and external sources to inform the strategic workforce model and plan
  • Able to lead on the production and project management of a strategic workforce model and plan, incorporating credible workforce scenarios and establishing suitable governance and controls
  • Able to establish a strategic workforce planning framework using experiences from external sources to embed strategic workforce planning activities into ET
  • Production of the annual Strategic Workforce Plan, including development of integrated people strategy and resourcing plan aligned to business goals, working with HR teams, ET tactical planning teams, finance and the ET Executive Committee
  • Provide strategic workforce planning guidance and dialogue across all ET departments and HR, ensuring a cohesive and cost-effective implementation of strategy, able to coach and influence ET managers in understanding workforce commitments and readinessrequirements
  • Provide leadership, escalation, and coaching support to Workforce Readiness Analyst
  • Able to support QRF/ Mandate processes, and a knowledge holder in workforce and headcount commitments
  • Able to continuously improve the strategic workforce model and plan, in time exploring a digital product
Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know How
  • Trusted and able to apply discretion when working with sensitive people data and strategies
  • Able to work effectively across the business and lead on all aspects of producing a trusted strategic workforce plan
  • Eager to develop professionally, and able to continue to bring in best practice from internal and external sources to continually improve strategic workforce understanding
  • Able to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders on all matters concerning workforce planning
  • Knowledge of Strategic Workforce Modelling and framework production
  • Knowledge of interpreting data analytics and data insights
  • Good experience of project management and tracking of performance
  • Understanding of people data controls, governance and PII management
  • Sector specific knowledge
  • Experience of working with or producing data models
  • Experience of strategic people planning
  • Experience of working with data and insights
  • Experience in managing internal / external stakeholder relationships
